Augustana Vikings Ski Camp

Weekend-Camp-Feb-22-24

February 23-24, 2019

Hello Alberta Skiers!

The Augustana Nordic Sports Club has decided to put on a fundraiser training camp in conjunction with the Camrose Ski Club’s Ole Uffda Loppet from the evening of Friday, February 22nd until the afternoon of Sunday, February
24th! The camp is open to all skiers from Mini-midgets up to Junior Boys/Junior Girls and parents are more than welcome to join, although not required – sufficient supervision will be available if parents are unable to join for the weekend.

Accommodations in town will be provided at the Camrose United Church – on Main Street and very close to Augustana – as well as all meals beginning with breakfast on Saturday until Sunday lunch. This is all included in the camp cost – $40 per person or $110 for a family to join. A quick note on this is that Saturday’s lunch is provided as part of registration for the Ole Uffda, so anyone not planning on racing the Ole Uffda should plan to bring their own lunch.

The only thing not included in the camp cost is the Ole Uffda Loppet registration fee. This Loppet will be really fun and although camp participants or parents/coaches are not required to race in the loppet, we will not have anything else planned during this time so it would be great to have everyone out racing or cheering. Prices for the loppet are $10 for the 1.5km event, $20 for the 3 or 5km events and $30 for the 10 or 20 km events – prices are higher on the day of the loppet, so be sure to register ahead of time online. Registration for the loppet can be found on Zone4

Below is a tentative schedule for the weekend. Some details may be adjusted as the weekend draws nearer, but this is likely fairly close to what the weekend will look like.

If you are unable to make it to the camp, but are still interested in making donations to the team, donations can be made to our biathlon division here or to our Cross-Country Ski division here

We can’t wait to see some of you out for the camp in a couple of weeks, and feel free to contact us at vikingxc@ualberta.ca with any questions you may have.
